Southern and Eastern Africa Trade Information and Negotiations Institute (SEATINI) Uganda is a Non-Governmental Organization that works to promote pro development trade, fiscal and investment related policies and processes for sustained equitable development and improved livelihoods in Uganda and the East African Community region. Through raising awareness, research, alliance building and partnerships, public interest litigation, building stakeholders’ capacity and joint advocacy, we stimulate dialogue between stakeholders and government and promote indigenous alternatives for improved livelihoods and sustainable development.

In the last 20 years, SEATINI-Uganda has successfully championed issues of trade, tax and development and strengthened stakeholders’ capacity to influence policies and processes for the realisation of sustainable development and improved livelihoods in Uganda and the East African region. I finally got my products certified by Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) after struggling for a long time. I had many uncertainties about the certification process, but Mr. Hakim Mufumbiro from UNBS, who presented at a meeting organized by SEATINI Uganda, clarified everything for me. I paid for the certification, underwent an audit, and a sample of my product was tested, with satisfactory results. I received the UNBS certificate through the help of SEATINI Uganda, and I am grateful. It’s essential that women in business have access to the information they need, and I hope key players can make that happen.
