Advocating for Prudent Debt Management Uganda, EAC and Africa at large

The need to for Uganda, EAC and Africa to ensure prudent debt management cannot be over-emphasized.

The insufficient resources for EAC governments to finance their national budgets has led to an increasing appetite for borrowing. This in turn has resulted into an unsustainable debt burden further negatively affecting abilities of EAC governments to provide the much-needed social services due to debt servicing.ย  A rapid build-up of loans has pushed East African countries close to a debt crisis, putting at risk the regionโ€™s long-term economic stability.

SEATINI Uganda together with like-minded CSOs are working towards enhancing prudent and transparent debt acquisition and management.
