The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) offers Africa an opportunity to trade through a single, continent-wide market for goods and services bringing together over 1.2 Billion people. The AfCFTA has potential to enable Africa to significantly boost intra-Africa trade, improve economies of scale and to establish an integrated market.

SEATINI Uganda is actively engaging in and contributing to shaping the AfCFTA Negotiations and continues to engage relevant Government MDAs, AfCFTA Secretariat, like-minded CSOs, Networks, MSMEs, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Private Sector and continues to create platforms for various stakeholders to amplify their voices and to effectively participate in the ongoing AfCFTA Negotiations. SEATINI wants to ensure that the perceived opportunities of the AfCFTA become a reality for the MSMEs, Women and Youth bearing in mind environmental sustainability and that the negative impacts of the AfCFTA are mitigated.

Industrialisation policies should evolve to match the country's ambitions. Investment and industrial policies should support green industrialisation by incorporating climate change considerations, since products that do not meet emerging environmental requirements will struggle
