SEATINI Participates in the LDC5 CSO Strategy Meeting
Ahead of the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5), SEATINI UGANDA Executive Director Jane Nalunga together with other civil society actors, researchers and networkers participated in a CSO being held in Bonn, Germany.
The central theme of this meeting is to confront the disconnect between the need for democratic multilateralism and its weakening and undermining, and its implications for LDCs and the Doha Programme of Action.
Specific objectives included to;
➡️Assess the current global situation;
➡️ Assess the challenges and crises affecting
➡️ Strategize on the essential role CSOs play in realizing the Doha Programme of Action.
The engagement of CSOs in the work of the United Nations helps build support for the promotion of sustainable development in the LDCs, bring their expertise and lessons learned on key implementation areas of the Programme of Action and help build support to Doha Programme of Action.
